About Us

With the Kirpa of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and under the guidance of Panj Pyare, the Sikh Sangat of Calgary has come together with a shared vision — to ignite a lifelong passion for Gurmat Sangeet among our community. This initiative is rooted in love, seva, and the desire to keep alive the spiritual heritage of Sikh music.

Through a conjoined effort, the foundation is dedicated to teaching traditional string instruments such as Rabab, Taus, and Dilruba, along with Jori and Vocals, so that children and youth may connect deeply with Gurbani. Our mission is to inspire the next generation to embrace Gurmat Sangeet not only as an art, but as a spiritual journey that nurtures both discipline and devotion.

At Gurmat Sangeet Foundation Calgary, we provide both in-person and online evening classes, making this sacred tradition accessible to students of all ages and backgrounds. With experienced instructors and the support of the Sangat, we strive to create a nurturing environment where every learner can experience the spiritual power of Gurbani through the beauty of Raag-based Shabad Kirtan.
